What about using financial aid/student loans to pay my rent?
|
|
Yes, you can use your financial aid/student loans to pay for your rent. We are set up for our residents to pay on a monthly basis, but we will take lump sum payments in advance to accommodate our residents. You should contact your financial aid office to find out your off-campus housing award package amount and for further information/details.

Where is Bayside Village located?
|
|
132 Marginal Way, Portland, ME 04101. Directions from I-95 – Enter on the ground level at reception. Visitor parking is available on the City’s streets and in municipal or public lots.

What size apartments are available?
|
|
Bayside Village offers 4 bedroom/2 bathroom apartments.
|
|
What are individual leases?
|
|
Individual leases mean that each person signs their own lease agreement on their assigned bedroom, and the common area is shared amongst the roommates. Individual leases also mean that you will not be held responsible for unpaid rent by your roommates. If we happen to not fill up the apartment you will not have to pay extra rent, that bedroom door will simply be locked.

What Utilities are included in the rent?
|
|
Basic cable and internet (in the living room and each bedroom), heat, hotwater, a/c, electricity, water, sewer, and gas. Additional services are available, including but not limited to, cable packages, and VOIP phone service.

What furniture is included in the apartment?
|
|
You will be provided with a sofa, chair, coffee table, end table and entertainment center in the living area. There will be a table and four chairs in the dining area. In the bedrooms, you will have a full size bed, 3 drawer dresser, computer desk and chair, and a closet.

What happens if I cancel my lease?
|
|
Once a lease has been signed and returned to the leasing office, it cannot be canceled. The only option available to residents not wishing to fulfill their lease agreement is to find a Sublease. It is the resident’s responsibility to find a person to take over the remaining balance of their lease agreement and visit the leasing office together to complete the paperwork.

How do you match roommates?
|
|
All residents fill out a roommate matching form. This asks important questions to assist us in the roommate matching process should a resident(s) be looking for a roommate.
|

What happens if I don’t like my roommate?
|
|
When matching roommates we try our hardest to find you the most compatible roommates, but if you find that you can’t get along please see us to discuss your options.
|

Are pets allowed?
|
|
The only pets that are allowed on the property are fish in a 10 gallon tank or smaller. No other animals are permitted on the property at any time. Fines for pets will be assessed.

Do you allow smoking?
|
|
Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building, including apartments, bedrooms and common spaces.
|

Is there parking?
|
|
Parking is leased on an annual basis at a monthly rate. Contact the management office for details.
|

What amenities are available at the property?
|
|
We offer on-site pay laundry facility, study and TV lounges and a Cafe. Our management and leasing offices are on site, as well as maintenance staff. We also hold regular resident events that we hope you will get involved in and enjoy!

Is there a temporary office set up where I can go and get more information about the apartments?
|
|
Yes, we have a temporary office that is located at 415 Forest Avenue in Portland. We are right next to Leonardo’s Pizza and across the street from Key Bank. Our office hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Stop by and/or give us a call to set up an appointment 1-888-832-4BAY.

How do I find out if the apartments are full?
|
|
We are filling up fast, but we still have some availability. If you ever want to check on availability, just give us a call or send an email and we will let you know.
